IE8 Breaks Windows Mail

Users of Windows Mail on Vista may be interested to learn that installing Internet Explorer 8 will break Windows Mail’s ability to open attachments; No word yet from Microsoft of a fix, at this stage, there are only three work arounds;

• Uninstall IE8
• Upgrade to Windows Live Mail
• Save the attachment to your documents and open from there.

As we suggest our clients should be using Firefox anyway, I think the best bet is just to uninstall IE8; In your control panel, open “Uninstall a Program”, then click on “View Installed Updates”, find Internet Explorer 8 in the list, and remove it.
