iPhone 2.0 announced, avail July 11
Word from Apple HQ that the iPhone 2.0, featuring 3G among other enhancements (including built in GPS!) will be available in Australia from July 11th.
Optus and Vodaphone are confirmed carriers, no word on if Telstra will be joining the fray, and so far this morning, no word on local pricing or packaging. In the US, it is significantly cheaper than the previous model though.
I’m hoping for a reasonable data option, and might see if I can spare the half hour needed to bother an Optus service representative to find out more today.
