“Switchgrass” shows promise as super bio fuel
A large scale study in the US has shown that crops of “Switchgrass” can be converted into Ethanol, and that the Ethanol produced yields 540% as much energy as what was required to produce it. This takes into account all the energy costs of growing the grass as well as the energy required to refine it into Ethanol.
Might be time for a letter to a few of our new ministers, such as Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research and Peter Garret, MP, Minister for the Environment. I’ll try and find some email links, although the federal government website has been down since the election.
