Sim City Societies Disappoints
The tubes are awash with angry gamers complaining about random freezing, random crashing, boring gameplay and in general bad times with EA’s latest installment in the Sim City franchise, Societies.
We’ve tested it here at Shift Solutions, and we agree. The game clunks along even on good spec hardware unless you turn the graphics detail way down. Once you get past that hurdle, you have to face the fact that the longer you play, the more often the game freezes up requiring a system reboot to get back.
The game play is way too easy. My 12 year old was able to maintain the coffers and continue playing on his very first attempt, which (despite my wish that it meant he was a genius) means that the gameplay is so dreadfully boring as to make this a “play once” proposition.
Don’t consider this one for Christmas, your kids will NOT thank you!
