I’ve been quietly trialling some software to remove spam from my inbox over the last couple of weeks,and it has turned out to be the best thing I ever did.
Spamweed has proven very reliable, and most importantly, easy to use. A quick check of the spam once a day and I can “white list” (that is, mark as always okay) anyone who’s email got caught in the dragnet by mistake. Any spam that slips through is quickly dealt with by clicking the “spam” button, and every time I do that, Spamweed gets a little better at telling spam from good email.
So far, my own email stats are as follows;
Total Emails: 1359
- Spam Blocked: 965
- Virus Blocked: 1
- False Negatives: 5%
- False Positives: 2.28%
Considering that false positive rate was without me adding my address book to the system at the beginning, its very very good.
