New hard drive technology
Seagate have apparently come up with a novel way to lubricate hard drive platters with nano tubes, Daily Tech reports. This will allow the hard drive heads to be closer to the platters, which in turn allows larger amounts of data to be stored on the same platter.
Somebody must be desperate for more storage. We are already building machines with Raid5 capable hard drive systems which can easily give you 1500 Gig of storage with hardware redundancy. More video anyone?
